China Nonferrous Gold's progress at Pakrut slowed by snow

Unhelpful weather conditions and delays to obtaining visas for suppliers and site employees have caused delays to the construction of China Nonferrous Gold’s Pakrut project.

Construction at the project, in the Republic of Tajikstan, is now expected to be completed by the end of August 2015, with the start of trial production expected to begin during November 2015, following commissioning.

Heavy snow and avalanches in the region have led to a delay in connection of electricity to the site and also hindered construction activity, not least because suppliers found it difficult to deliver construction materials.

Ore is continuing to be stockpiled at Pakrut and the company is working to resolve the above issues and is looking at possible ways to make up as much of the lost time as possible.
